My research interests falls broadly under the management of diabetes with medicinal plants. My research work has focused mainly (but not exclusively) on the study of renal function, which is influenced by the nervous and endocrine systems. The investigations have been extended to the study whether ethnomedicinal plants can control blood glucose in diabetes mellitus and reverse impaired kidney function and cardiovascular disorders; the main complications associated with the disease. Studies involve streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats and integrate molecular biological, biochemical, cellular, pharmacological and whole organismal approaches. ResearchGate Profile
